US Video Game Angers Chavez Allies in Venezuela
The latest episode in the war of words between Washington and Venezuela concerns a video game called "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames," which simulates a military invasion of the South American nation. Venezuelan lawmakers are complaining that the game, to be marketed by a U.S. company next year, provides a blueprint for violently overthrowing President Hugo Chavez.

Amnesty Seeks to End Internet Repression
Amnesty International marked its 45th anniversary by launching a global campaign against state-sponsored censorship of the Internet. Amnesty set up the Irrepressible Web site as a flagship for the campaign. The Web site encourages visitors to take action by signing an online petition (more than 17,000 have already) and by publishing irrepressible fragments of censored material on personal sites.

New Vehicle for Dissent Is a Fast Track to Prison
At least six Egyptian bloggers have been in custody since a demonstration in Cairo in early May and under Egypt’s emergency laws, they can remain there indefinitely. Yet being jailed hasn’t stopped Alaa Abdel-Fattah from blogging – his messages scribbled on bits of paper make their way onto the Internet.
