Profile Organization: OnPoint Advocacy, LLC and Democracy Data & Communications, LLC Title: Director of Internet Campaigns Biography: As OnPoint Advocacy's Director of Internet Campaigns, Richard Fawal coordinates the development of online campaigns to recruit and train grassroots advocates, and the building of online communities to support their efforts. He also manages the implementation client campaigns he oversees, including Web-based mobilizations, telephone recruitment initiatives, grasstops recruitment and mobilization, and advocate outreach and development. Previously, Fawal served as political director of the Arab American Institute, media director for the Sustainable Energy and Economic Development Coalition, and vice president and co-founder of Grassroots Solutions, Inc. During his time with OnPoint, Fawal has led a multifaceted campaign to generate bipartisan support for free trade. Fawal has also managed the implementation and growth of a patient-recruitment program on medical liability reform, which has recruited nearly one million advocates thus far. Recent and upcoming notable projects: We continue to run an online recruitment campaign for the American Medical association that has recruited over 1 million patients for their Patient’s Action Network. We’ve also recruited over 100,000 women to help Kellogg’s spread the word about the dangers of heart disease, the number one cause of death among women. In the coming months we’ll be launching national internet campaigns to educate and register voters for the US Chamber of Commerce, as well as a campaign for the health care industry to ensure that affordable health care is available to all Americans regardless of their financial status.
