Memorial Day
For those of you in the US, I hope you pulled your eyeballs away from the monitor long enough to remember the many men and women that have served your country who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
For those of you outside the US: To learn more about Memorial Day go here.
Buzz is off today, but just came in to post this and make sure my 1,000+ emails aren't reeking havoc on the network.

GOP Fires Back With Humorous Kerryoply
Hours after the announcement of "Republican Survivor" re: last post, the GOP fired back with their own parody called Kerryoply, using the Monopoly game board idea to high light the high roller lifestyle of John Kerry.
I still think an American Idol or Fear Factor parody would be funnier, but timing is everything and that's a nice rapid response rebuttal.

Republican Survivor Trailor
The New York Times just published an article on an upcoming "webisode" that promises to be quite funny.
Just in time for the summer re-run season, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a "webisode" Internet parody of the Survivor series, giving visitors to the site at dtriptv.org a chance to vote some of their favorite Republican foes off the island over the next six weeks.
Go watch the trailer, its hilarious, especially Dick Cheney. No Pun intended.
I would love to see the Republicans combat this with an American Idol or Fear Factor Parody cracking on the Democrats.

Getting Burnt Doesn't Mean Grassroots Die
Howard Kaloogian the self-proclaimed hero of the successful on and offline effort to Recall California Gov. Gray Davis is back again with a new online PAC called Move America Forward, not to be confused with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson PAC Moving America Forward.
Kaloogian's PAC will "respond to the barrage of attacks that have been launched by the nauseatingly liberal
news media and left-wing political activists against our military, our troops, our Commander in Chief and the War on Terrorism."
Before the launch of the PAC Kaloogian tried to carry his new found fame from the Recall into an unsuccessful run for a California senate seat
[Insider Alert: Stayed tuned next week for the scoop on what some Daft Clark junkies doing to battle Nader online]
Like the saying goes, "Once you go online... you never rewind." Ok, maybe I made that one up.

Don't Discount Bush's Online Fundraising
Can you believe the U.S. presidential candidates and other interested parties have already blown through a cool billion running for the White House? I thought Mike Tyson could spend some cash, but these guys are ridiculous. Could Don King be at the center of a real conspiracy theory? First, he was Tyson’s manager and now he’s fighting for Republican’s who are following Tyson's lead of spending like there’s no tomorrow. Think about it.
Of course the big Internet news is that Kerry has raised over $35 million online, setting records that even the “internet candidate” Howard Dean couldn’t reach. That’s great for Kerry but don’t write off BushCheney04’s online fundraising prowess just yet.
Here’s why: Right now Kerry might be able to raise online bucks better than Bush, but Bush hasn’t really tried. Bush is sitting on 6 million emails that he has yet to push for money like his Democratic opponents have. How much money can Bush raise online? A last minute drive could raise 20-25 million in one week. Could Kerry do the same? Yes and No. Kerry and his former Democratic opponents have been exhausting their small donor base for over a year, which makes them less likely to give. Kerry would have to expand his supporter base, but all Bush has to do is ask from current supporters that are likely to give but haven’t been pushed hard to do so..
[Insider Alert: So what can Kerry do to raise more money? A source close to the Kerry campaign told me that it might be smart for Kerry to delay accepting the nomination past the DNC convention. But, my guess is that neither delegates nor voters want him to wait, and the outcry would be too strong for him to follow through with it. ]
Also watch out for these late bloomers to help add big bucks to the online money making madness:
-- Republican 527's
-- Wealthy Republican "George Soros" type individuals
-- NRA's new online media company and copycats

Five Things You Should Know Before The Weekend
Only one day until Friday and not too much breaking news over on PoliticsOnline, so I thought I would pass on some advice before everyone's brain shuts down for the weekend. You would think some of this stuff is common sense, but you just never know.
1. If you are a super power envied and or hated by many countries, avoid letting soldiers abuse prisoners, take pictures and then post the photos on the internet...twice.
2. If you live in D.C. avoid blogging your sex tales with married elected officials unless of course you are ready to sell the book and movie rights.
3. If you live in D.C. and are an elected official, avoid having sex with people (especially bloggers) other than your spouse, else you might end up in a made for TV movie that I promise will not help you get reelected.
4. If you live in California or India avoid Electronic Voting Machines that print coupons and the latest pick three loto numbers on the receipt.
5. If you are running for office avoid referring to your website in public as "that big old bunch of broken links" or "the thing my geeky nephew built."
Hope this clears up things for some of our readers.

Lights, Camera, Blog! - Baghdad Blogger Signs Movie Deal
Salam Pax, a guy with a PC and a good sense of humor in a war zone is going Hollywood. According to Screen Daily Intermedia, Pax the now famous Blogger of Baghdad is searching for a screenwriter to adapt his book for the big screen.
Intermedia has bought film rights to Baghdad Blog, the book of a weblog written by a 29 year-old Iraqi calling himself Salam Pax about daily life in Baghdad before and after the invasion.
Way to go Pax Man! I can't imagine this movie being any good but any blogger who scores bucks on a movie deal is my hero.

Dean Bats For Kerry
I was going through my usual 500 daily political spam emails this morning when I came across one from John Kerry that made my chin do one of those "hit the floor with the tongue roll out” maneuvers like I saw on a Sponge Bob cartoon this morning. After reeling my tongue back in I still couldn't believe what I was seeing. Dean's bat, the sacred online moneymaker and mascot of his campaign, was in a John Kerry uniform.
We all knew Dean was batting for Kerry after the Internet candidate lost his own chances, but wow, that's real commitment.
Dean hope's to help Kerry raise $500K online in one day as part of a $10 million in May fundraising marathon.
[Insider Alert: Buzz was recently tipped that Dean’s For America’s next effort will be an online petition next week to tell get states to require a paper trail for electronic voting machines used in November.]
